Looks like the New Year is upon us once again. Holidays over and its time to get back on the groove. My first assignment this is a very nice French Wine Bar. Take a look.

TIP: Right Light

Just a quick tip this time on lighting.

When in an environment where there are multiple light sources of different color temperature, try to stick to one “light color” unless you’re doing some lighting effects.

In the image below, I was trying to balance the room incandescent light with my Speedlight. As you can see in this test shot, my flash (Speedlight) has a very cool light temperature while the lamp gives a nice warm glow. Now, I can’t do anything about the lamp light, mainly because I am at my client’s house and it is not polite to re-arrange their things around too much.

So, I changed my speedlight temperature simply by using a gel. In this case, I think I used 1/4 CTO gel. I think 1/2 CTO could also work here. The results are quite pleasing IMHO.
